The interior design of the cafeteria and terrace was inspired by the Majorelle Gardens, Marrakesh, Morocco, the former home of French fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. On the terrace there are plants that grow in the Majorelle Gardens, such as bamboo, jasmine and bougainvillea.
Granada has an enviable situation, just 45 minutes to the ski resort of the Sierra Nevada and 50 minutes to the beach. Many Tourists arrive at Granada airport or come from Malaga area to visit this cultural city with the Majestic Alhambra Palace once a Moorish stronghold.
Students from Granada University or language schools meet inside the bar for intercambio (language exchange between English and Spanish) three times a week, every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8.30pm onwards.
The café is owner and run by an English woman, Totes, a former garden designer. She is assisted by the friends she has made since moving to Granada, hence the name Totes y amigos.
